The Parallel CLI is live

The whole protocol from your terminal

At a glance: Live data, mint and redeem, savings, bridge, staking, governance, and x402 payments, from one command. Readable tables for you, clean JSON for your scripts. Nothing signs until you pass --wallet.

Parallel x402 gave AI agents a way to pay. The MCP server gave AI assistants a way to read the protocol and prepare transactions without ever signing. The Parallel CLI is the third piece: the layer that can sign, and the one you script. It is live today.

Install

npm install -g @parallel-protocol/cli

# or run it without installing

npx @parallel-protocol/cli protocol overview

Requires Node.js 22 or newer. The binary is parallel.

Read the protocol. No wallet, no config.

Every data command runs with no key, no account, and no configuration. Install and query.

parallel protocol overview      # TVL, USDp supply, savings APY, solvency ratio

parallel protocol tvl --chain base

parallel savings rate           # protocol-wide sUSDp APY

parallel bridge quote --from base --to arbitrum --amount 1000

parallel gov proposals

There are 46 commands, grouped by what you're doing: protocol, swap, savings, bridge, staking, gov, pay, and utilities. Only 10 of them move funds. The other 36 need nothing but a shell.

Tired of passing --chain every time? parallel config init walks you through your defaults once and writes them to ~/.parallel/config.toml. It's optional. Every command works without it.

Built to be scripted

Output switches to JSON the moment stdout is not a terminal, so commands pipe straight into jq:

parallel savings rate | jq '.data.currentAPY'

Force JSON anywhere with --json. Every command uses the same envelope, and failures exit 1 with a typed error code such as WALLET_REQUIRED or UNKNOWN_CHAIN, so the CLI is safe to chain in CI and cron jobs.

Add --history to protocol backing, protocol tvl, protocol savings-rate or protocol supply usdp for a daily series, bounded with --from and --to.. Enough to back a dashboard without running an indexer.

Sign when you choose

The CLI never looks for a key unless you pass --wallet. Without it, nothing signs. Add --dry-run to any transaction command, and it builds and prints the full unsigned transaction, with no key involved. Add --address to simulate for a real account.

parallel swap mint ... --dry-run       # builds and prints the unsigned transaction, no key involved

parallel swap mint ... --wallet env    # signs with $PARALLEL_PRIVATE_KEY and broadcasts

parallel swap mint ... --wallet ~/.parallel/keystore.json   # prompts for the password, signs and broadcasts

Point --wallet at a standard encrypted V3 keystore or an environment variable, and the same command signs and sends. This is the one thing the MCP server cannot do. There, writes always come back for you to sign yourself.

With --wallet, transactions broadcast immediately after signing. There is no extra confirmation step. Use a dedicated wallet with limited funds, never your main wallet, and preview with --dry-run first.

x402 from the terminal

Four commands under pay cover Parallel x402: capabilities, quota, verify, and prepare. The last one builds and signs the payload that agent payments run on. It's literally the engine behind the agent starter: @parallel-protocol/x402-fetch shells out to parallel pay prepare. The same code path agents use in production, exposed as a command you can call from any script or any language.

Where it fits

Parallel now has three surfaces for agents and the people building them.

Parallel x402 is the payment rail. An agent with a funded wallet pays for API calls in USDp, sUSDp, or USDC — gaslessly on Base, > Avalanche, and HyperEVM

The MCP server is the read-and-prepare layer for AI assistants. It never signs.

The CLI is the terminal tool that can sign and broadcast when you explicitly hand it a wallet. Same protocol underneath, different trust models for different jobs.

Chains

USDp itself is live on 24 chains. The Parallelizer for minting and redeeming, and the Savings module for sUSDp, run on four of them: Ethereum, Base, Avalanche, and HyperEVM. parallel protocol chains prints the feature matrix for every deployment; parallel health checks RPC status live.

About Parallel

Parallel is a capital-efficient, modular, over-collateralized, and decentralized stablecoins protocol, backed by yield-generating correlated assets.
